The African continent has many different climatic zones and landscape features that vary from deserts to tropical rainforests and snow-capped mountains. It is home to people of every size, shape, and skin colour with hundreds of distinctive languages and cultures. Teachers must realise that no place in Africa is the same. There are many traditions in Africa. Their is a juice you should try called jungle juice found in Gambia made from the juices from a certain tree (which I can not remember). This Juice is the local fire water and should be drunk with caution as it will get you drunk fast.

There are many amazing places to go while working in Africa and of course it is cheap to travel around Africa.

I was teaching English Africa in a national park for 6 months, which was great. I had 2 days off a week, so being a single woman I was in search of something to do. I used to wander around the local town or hang out with the tourists. One day I went for a walk just outside the national park and I came across a man in traditional dress, he was walking along up the path coming towards me, I wasn't frightened, this man saw me and started to dance around in the path and then went on his merry way. People are chilled out and do not bother you unless you cause a threat, and me being small (5 foot), blond and I look very young didn’t threaten him at all.
I was teaching the local tour guides English. It was a fantastic job. I was able to go on the safaris some days, and as you can imagine I saw many wild animals and took thousands of photos. It was a good experience working in Africa and would recommend it to anyone thinking about going there to work.
