Native speakers usually work with young adults at a fairly advanced level while their Brazilian colleagues take the younger classes and the lower levels. Students often start to attend private schools when they are 9 or 10 and will attend year in year out until they become proficient users of English. Schools mainly use American language books. Students are often forced to attend because their parents know how important English is in the Brazilian workplace, but these students are rarely disruptive.
