Teach English in The United KingdomTEFL
CELTA DELTA TESOL TESL It is a great time to work in the U.K now, as there is a high demand for English teachers. Most jobs offer approx £2000 a month. Language schools in London can pay from £10 - £20 an hour, for 25 - 40 hours a week for a teacher. In London, it is very easy to get work. It is expensive but most teachers can keep to a budget, if you don't go out everynight clubbing! There are lots of language schools along the coast of the British Isle as many students like to study near the beach, So if you are a teacher who wants to be by the sea then contact one of the thousand schools listed. Working in a coastal town is like "living the quiet life," but you will get to know the locals and they will make you feel at home. Many English schools are "visa factories". Students ostensibly study for three hours in order to get permission to work. In practice large numbers get their teachers to mark them present but rarely attend but if they don't turn up you still get paid. Others arrive half way through the class. Since their primary aim is to earn money, not learn English. There are of course many reputable English schools listed on the Uk list you can contact about your rates of pay and contract hours you want to work a week and in which city/town. An option
is to branch into teaching Business subjects, such as the Association
of Business Executives Certificate and Diploma. The pay is higher and
the subject material not complex (except maybe for Accounting). If
you are an Aussie, Kiwi, Canadian or South African there is a good chance
that you will spend a year or two working in London. Because of the availability
of working holiday visas and the common language, it is an easy place
to base yourself and it is one of the easiest and cheapest places in Europe
to make onward travel arrangements. The type
of work that you can expect to get can vary enormously. Many travellers
think that they have to get work in a warehouse, restaurant, bar or something
in the hospitality industry. However if you have qualifications, it's
worth aiming higher as many backpackers in London are working in high
paying positions in the lucrative computing, medical, accountancy and
banking fields. Your work permit may prohibit jobs which may further your
career although you are often allowed to take temporary assignments through
employment agencies. TEFL United Kingdom £5.99 |
